Letterpress printing is a small, little known part of the printing industry. Although used for more than 500 years up to the 1970's, there are not many people remaining in the trade with the 'Comp' skills.
Here at Hot Metal Press we have kept the past alive by keeping a small working collection of letterpress casting & printing machines.
We are experts in Typography with a Ludlow Caster and an Intertype C4 to give you many speedily set fonts plus Hand Set Type to give many more traditional fonts.
We also have an Heidelberg Auto Platen for long run jobs together with small hand & treadle Presses for unusual shaped & sized materials.
